Finding gainful employment may be difficult on an island. If the job opportunities are low, you may have to find work on the mainland. Unfortunately, this could cause some upheaval in your lifestyle. If you are employed on the mainland, you need to start your day earlier and end it later. Travel times could be somewhat long in both directions, and that's if the weather is good; however, the relaxation and rewards of coming home to an island home can be well worth the extra time and effort.
