Charleston real estate saw an influx during August 2011, according to the latest numbers. This makes August the most active month of the year and should be telling of the upturn motion the area's housing market it taking.

Numbers showed that 904 homes were sold at a median price of $185,000 during the month, making it the most active month of sales and the second-highest median price chronicled this year so far.

Last year's August saw just 681 homes sold, making 33 percent more sales that were closed this past August than in August 2010.
